2008

September 2008: Terence Ryan Melonas and Dr. John Bagby presented a poster on Consumer Privacy and the Regulation of Wireless Advertising Messages (WAM) at the TPRC 2008.

August 2008: Dr. Heng Xu presented a paper on Mobile Users’ Privacy Decision Making: Integrating Economic Exchange and Social Justice Perspectives at the AMCIS 2008.

March 2008: Dr. Heng Xu attended and presented a poster at the NSF CyberTrust PI Meeting, Yale University, New Haven, CT.

2007

October 2007: Dr. Heng Xu will teach a new course about information privacy in Spring 2008. The course, SRA 497A Integration of Privacy and Security, is designed as a conversation about the interaction between the organizational, technical, operational and regulatory elements of privacy and security. September 2007: Dr. Heng Xu (PI), Dr. Mary Beth Rosson (Co-PI) and Dr. John Carroll (Co-PI) have been awarded $168,777 by the NSF to fund their research project on Privacy Assurance in Location-Based Services. This project is a two-year research project that runs from September 1, 2007 to August 31, 2009.

August 2007: Dr. Chao-Hsien Chu (PI), Dr. Peng Liu (Co-PI) and Dr. Heng Xu (Co-PI) have been awarded $175,576 by the DoD to fund the IA Scholarship and Capacity Building Program.

July 2007: Dr. Heng Xu had one paper on The Effects of Self-Construal and Perceived Control on Privacy Concerns accepted by the ICIS 2007.
